1. Using some of the techniques discussed in this chapter, begin developing a concept for
an original game idea. Discuss the central theme of your idea, and the methods you used
to bring your idea into existence.
My game takes place in the near distant future around 2020 on the planet Earth.
Planet Earth has been taking over by an hostile alien race called the Kha'Zians, An alien race that goes to every single planet draining the life force of the planet's source of energy therefore by destroying the planet and leaving it dry and empty. I got my idea from your basic alien invasion movies like War of the Worlds, where aliens try and take over the world, but I just added my own twist to my my idea. You the player will be playing the Hero figure, who will save everyone and hopefully bring back Earth to the human race. The Hero is an elite warrior trained in many fields of martial arts styles and has been the commanding his own elite force. The hero uses his knowledge of weapons and stealth to defeat the Aliens. Throughout the game players can evolve there guns and armor. Melee combat will be also used to allow players to fight if they don't have anymore ammo stored.
2. Create a backstory, environment, and three character descriptions associated with your
original game idea. How are these elements integrated and linked through a central
theme?
Earth 2020, the Alien race Kha'Zians have taken over Earth and have destroyed most of human life in the process. Many humans don't stand a chance against the might of the aliens. The Hero who has been in a coma awakes to find that Earth has been over run by aliens. What the Hero doesn't who is that years before the take over happened another alien race did something to the hero and therefore putting him in a coma. What the aliens did was give him super strength and healing over time, he would find out over time of his power that has come to him. Most of the Earth has been in ruins, and many Kha'Zians ships patrol Earth's cities, but The Mothership controls them all.
-The Hero has a high intelligent armor that protects his whole body and can be controlled by the mind of the user, it looks like a skin suit but when in armor mode it evolves into a big metal suit, he has a flat top hair style and is an African American. At the start all he has is a pistol to use but eventually through out the game better guns become available to him.
- The Enemies are intelligent beings, they don't use any armor but have a there natural skin which is almost like bulletproof. Their main source of weapons are either there claws or the Alien guns that they carry around
3. Document your concept with reference material and original sketches. How did you
capture your reference images? Create thumbnails and silhouettes. Compile these images
into an art “bible” to help guide your vision.
Before designing the Characters, I referenced different images to help with creating my characters.
